Sounds simple, doesn’t it?
Truth is, it really is that simple. In the vast universe around us, everything boils down to energy. Knowing this, why would you ever want to surround yourself with negative energy?
You wouldn’t. And most likely, you don’t do it intentionally. So really what it comes down to is intention. And the power of positive intentions are the place I’d like to be.
How about you?
When I get up in the morning, the day is filled with endless possibilities. Today could be the day I stomp out disease and cure all of mankind. Or it could be the day I win the lottery. Or how about the day I find a magic lantern with a wish-fulfilling genie inside?
You never know, and neither do I. That’s why my days are filled with endless possibilities.
So now you’re asking yourself what has this got to do with writing? A lot.
When you sit down to write, and I’m sure you do that daily, correct?– you need to have a positive attitude. If you make your writing work, that’s all it will ever be to you, and to anyone else who reads it.
We are usually born “storytellers” and we can not live without putting the stories in our heads down on the page. It’s both a blessing and a curse. But it’s a curse we are willing to live with.
When I sit down to do word count for the day, it’s so much more than just words on a page, it’s a story I want to tell, to share. If you start to write with hope, love and joy, your work becomes effortless and your pride in your ability to tell a story grows with each keystroke.
However, if you sit down to the computer, or however you write, believing you have to pound out a specific word count without a plan, or without joy, or with just a general overall poor attitude, then storytelling becomes work.
And we all know, WORK is a four letter word.
